Outside Drain Blocked

We had a blocked drain outside the house, called Severn Trent (our water company) and they sent someone out to unblock it.

Also, I believe it matters where the drain is located.

If the drain is located on your property, it is the freeholder's responsibility to bear the costs of the repair.

If the drain is located on a public footpath or road, then the water company will pay the costs.

Had a drain unblocked recently at the grans house - cost £275 odd for about 2 and a quarter hours work!

That drain hadn't (as far as she could recall) ever been cleaned since they move in more than 30 years ago so it wasn't a surprise that it eventually needed a good clean through.

It didn't half stink though you're all right on that! :/
