Oven door closed for grill to work?

Weird how times change.
If a grill stayed on with the door closed (and this was tested on every cooker) then it was classed as a major fault and the warehouse could be bonded for that one product. It was found that food being grilled can catch fire quicker when the door is closed.
Also the top oven shouldn't work if the door was open.
