Went for a walk on Ogden Water with my family while I was visiting over the weekend. I took quite a lot of pics but mainly of my family which would bore you all. These are the more interesting ones, some of which I think I underexposed a bit too much!

Appreciate any critique and comments

I think they're great. The 2nd in particular. The first could maybe do with a tighter crop. What camera were these taken with?

I got some photos of a Goldcrest the other day when we were taking a walk around Whisby Nature Reserve (1st one I've actually seen). Taken on a Canon Powershot S1 but I've not had chance to download them yet to see how they've turned out. It was hopping about in the small tree in front of us for ages so managed to take a good few snaps. I should hopefully getting a 350D later this week ready for my Lake District trip in mid-May. I'll hopefully have got to grips with it by then.

Good work!

Thanks :) they were taken with a Canon 20D and Sigma 100-300 at full stretch. I have tried a 100% crop but I havent been able to get any kind of easy on the eye composition from it.

What's that slight diagonal line? I didn't notice it until it was cropped.
Maybe it would work better with just cropping some of the top & bottom off & keeping the width. However that might be a bit arty farty for some.

not sure, maybe a branch? I hadnt noticed it until now either!

Some more from the same day - I had to snipe these at full stretch with the telephoto, they didnt like me being around and scarpered once I started snapping!

2 and 3 are 100% crops

Those last few photos could do with being processed to produce a more punchy image

They have been processed a bit as they were flat to begin with... the trouble I had with them was trying to get the contrast up while keeping some detail - I appreciate they are underexposed but it was one of those occasions where you dont expect to see wildlife and you dont have time to play around with the camera.

Feel free to have a bash though :)
