over clocked 7900 gt o /gtx faster than x1900xt?

hi are these cards faster than the x1900xt if overclocked?

depends on the amount of the overclock but the 7900gtx is close to the x1900xt, with some overclocking it will probably edge it out. but if your considering a gfx card from that range then the x1900xt is the sensible choice provided your psu is up to the job.

Some don't, my HIS card only gets to 655 on the core and the memory won't even go up 1 mhz before I get artifacts. I've heard of other people having trouble overclocking the HIS cards too.

nvidia cards seem to be much more overclockable, the 7900gto seems like a better buy at the moment and it's 30 pounds cheaper than the HIS. I only went for the HIS cus I was impatient and I needed the video input.

Well the 7900GTO would have to be overclocked a fair bit to get to X1900XTX speeds. The X1900XT 256MB is a better buy, price versus performance imo.

The 7900GTX = X1900XTX, get whichever is cheaper, as overclocking is likely to be close.

memory on the GTO would only need to be overclocked by 280Mhz to be the same speeds as a GTX. the core is the same speed
