overclock a E2180

I had a E2180 on the very same board to 3.6Ghz prime stable. I reckon it would have gone even further but i only had the stock cooler at the time and temps were getting a bit toasty. That board is probably the best bang for buck Intel board ever made with overclocking features usually seen on far more expensive boards. I will have a look and see if i still have the settings written down somewhere.

The E2160 and E2180 were possibly the only cpu's ever produced where a full 100% overclock was almost always possible. I've never seen one that didn't do at least 3.1GHz at stock voltage and at least 3.3Ghz with 1.36v

will put my ram down to 667 and up my FSB as soon as i have time to replace the heatsink with this TX3, just need some time off school, around christmas should be done

Sorry for the late reply. I ran 2 x 2gb sticks of OCZ ddr2800. So 2 sticks total and it was fine. Now if you are talking about adding 2 more 1 gig sticks I am not sure to be honest.

His board will be the problem. I hit a wall with mine and no matter what I did could not get past it. As I said it is a decent budget overclocking board but it will not let ya reach the sky or at least my chip.board would not. Does not hurt to try though.

no i was considering upgrading to 4GB either DDR2-800 OR DDR2-1066, just to future proof my computer abit more, so i can upgrade gradually instread of having to do everything at once
