HELP! Tried to overclock my E2140 on a gigabyte ga-p35c-ds3r but no matter how small the overclock the cpu resets back to default settings?? Ive tried following this months CUSTOM PC overclock guide but still no good.

Any words of wisdom??

TA!;)

First thing id try is setting the FSB to 266Mhz ( 1066 ) as your board definatly should boot at that frequency.

Check your memory timings ( Press CTRL + F1 to see the menu ) and set the divider to 2.0, meaning your RAM will run at 533Mhz at 266FSB.

I put an E2180 in this mobo for a build and is sooo easy to get stable at 3.33ghz with an AC7Pro. Its a very combination for OCing and E2140 is very good as well.

So does this mean that the magazine method is no good? I have that copy and I'm holding fire for the time being

WOOHOO!!!:D finally sorted prob, the memory wasn't supported by the board DOH! for now im running at 2.4, not bad for a £50 board and a £35 cpu, Gotta love THE BAY!;)

How does a E2180 perform at 3.3GHz?

Very good, i didnt build it as a gaming machine so just stuck a 8400gs in but it fly's in all other tasks, its mainly used for video editing and for the money it offers great value. It ripped and encoded a dual layer film faster than my E6300 but the E2180 had 2x2gigs of Ram (Vista 32) but the E6300 only 2x1Gig (XP 32).
