Right I tried to increase the overclock on my 4870 but it failed and I got massive screen corruption and then grey, requiring a reboot.
The problem is that now if I load into windows I can't get into CCC without the same corruption! I can't work out how to stop it as in safe mode CCC won't load!

Any ideas?

I'm in windows now having uninstalled and reinstalled the ATI 10.4s. If I try and load CCC then it all goes wrong and artifacts :(

Edit: Andy, what do I need to delete from the registry? Cheers

Your CCC profile will be saved in C:\Users\your name\ Local\ATI\Ace\profiles, if you can get in there then you can edit the clocks manually using notepad. Assuming of course you saved it to a profile.

Stop using CCC and use AtiTrayTools, imho it's better. If using Win7 you'll need to disable driver signing, google it, it's dead easy.

do a search for ATI and delete what ever pops up, then just reinstall drivers, that should solve it.

if nothing else works then grab a hammer and give it a good beating.

no do what Devrij said it keeps the profiles saved even if you delete the program, when you reinstall it automatically links it back up hence its ok when it uninstalled...not when you reinstall.

Uninstall CCC then goto C:\Users\your name\ Local\ and delte the ATI folder and all its contents, then reinstall CCC...done :)

Download Driver Sweeper (google), works perfectly.

Can cause problems. I used it with either 1.3 or 1.4 drivers (not sure which) and it meant I couldn;t install CCC again no matter which driver I used to install.

Ended up having to wipe windows 7 and reinstall.

So use with caution.

In the end I used driver sweeper, which on its own didnt sort the problem. I had to download rivatuner and use that to set the clocks back! I must have rebooted over 20 times tonight, not a process I want to repeat!
Thanks for the help guys
