I think it Is actually working but I'm not sure in cpu-z it says the multiplier is 42 and core voltage is 1.24v with I left on auto and that was at 1.060v originally so it has gone up but the speculation says g3258 at 3.2 and also in bios and about this pc it say 3.2 but like I said it looks like it's running at 4.2 do you know if this normally happens ? im using a h81i-plus bios 2305 with g3258 cpu

If you mean the stuff quoted in Windows that's just the stock I think looked up simply from the model number so nothing to worry about.

The BIOS might be reporting the same in the 'About' section, as long as the numbers look right in the overclock settings when you access should be fine. CPU-Z will give you the read on the actual clocks and voltage while live so that should be where you focus when booted, windows isn't going to tell you that.
