Hi, I've had my Q6600 at 3 GHz stable for months in my Asus Maximus Formula board. I've just upgraded from 4 Gb to 8 Gb RAM. At the moment I can only get the machine to boot using default settings.

Any suggestions on what I should do to my overclock settings to attempt to get it to boot ?

Thanks guys, I did try upping the RAM ram voltage to 2.1V as per spec, but didn't work. Will try upping the NB volts, it's currently at 1.36V, any suggestions ?

Thanks Cob, tried upping NB to 1.49v, set DRAM V at 2.1V. Still no boot. Tried upping Vcore from 1.21250 to 1.26250, still no good. Restore default settings and machine boots ok.

Current measurements from Everest show (running at 2.4GHz):

Voltage Values:
CPU Core 1.18 V
+3.3 V 3.25 V
+5 V 4.94 V
+12 V 11.98 V
+5 V Standby 4.92 V
FSB VTT 1.22 V
North Bridge Core 1.36 V
South Bridge Core 1.07 V
South Bridge PLL 1.54 V
DIMM 1.97 V
DIMM VTT 0.99 V
GPU Vcc 3.25 V

The only voltage setting I had changed for my overclock was the CPU core set to 1.21250, which ran 9 x 333 MHz no problem with 4 Gb Ram.

Any more ideas ?

Ok guys, using G. Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ kits x 2. Memory is not even close to being overclocked.

I have sorted my problem though. I had set the memory command rate to 1T in the BIOS, which didn't cause me a probelm with 4Gb Ram installed. I changed this to 2T and the machine booted with my overclock with 8Gb Ram with no problem. I have subsequently changed the NB volts and and Ram volts from AUTO to 1.41 and 2.06 respectivly.

Machine is stable under Prime running at 3GHz (Core at 1.17V).

Thanks for all your ideas.

Lee.
