currently got GA P35C-DS3R with quadcore Q6600 @ 2.4

ive tried overclocking to 2.6|2.8|3.0|3.2 & 3.4 but when i load into vista and check CPU-z and My Computer,im still @ 2.4 x 4

do i need to update my BIOS ?

Cheers

if you read the other posts on here relating to overclocking, i believe you need to disable the stepping option as the cpu will throttle down when not in use to its original setting. as i've read quite a few posts regarding this type of problem. ;)

there must be something wrong with your settings on your multiplier/FSB or vcore. what settings are you using?

found this info on the board:
If the mainboard cannot start with new parameter settings, it will automatically reset everything to defaults. This way you will hardly ever have to use the Clear CMOS jumper.

i'm assuming that the settings your inputting are not "viable" so the board is simply resetting the BIOS each time.
