I think I got a world record of overclock i7 920 d0 2.66GHz @ 7.44GHz at vcore of 1.216v and managed to unlock multiplier up to x39 from x21 but kept the qpi link and bus speed low to stable it.

Here is my cpu-z validated ID: 748633 @ http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=748633

Bet you all wondering how on earth I did managed it ?

Earlier on I did managed to start off with 5.1GHz here:

lets see some sub 5s superPi 1M :D

Can't do this as temperature will be over 100C with 8Ghz and BSD !

I only do this for fun (not a genuine 8Ghz oc thought! But it would be amazing if the i9 can do 10Ghz for fun (?)

Will post here at midnight of what did I do to get cpuz validated and video of 8Ghz+ without full load.

I really hope you have something solid to back this up with bulldog, or you've just fallen a long way in my estimation of you.

I trust you realise that given an unlocked 975 doesn't hit 8ghz, unlocking the multiplier on a 920 would not allow you to hit 8ghz. So it's not looking good for you here.

Good luck.

Yes, you are quite right, it impossible to unlock multiplier for i7 920 ! But, the hack for i7 920 software can break that ! :)

1) load cpu-z up and running (left alone)
2) open up hw monitor and running (left alone)
3) open up i7 turbo software
4) open up cpu-tweaker software
5) then after 5 minutes, closed i7 turbo

result: the cpu-z had changing crazy core speed varies from 4ghz all the way up to 100ghz but I had to be very quick to validated cpu-z before the core speed to change itself and that's how I get 8Ghz overclock but I never overclock myself only (on standard 4ghz without changed it) :)

Oh my palmhead ... unbelieved 135GHz overclock ? Surely it time for cpu-z to get these bug fixed by changing it need to do overclock for at least 60 seconds before validated it over the internet :)
