What type of crossfire? 2 x 8 or 2 x 16? The former, get a P45, the latter, an X38 or X48.

I'm in the same boat myself, decided I want X38 or X48 because there's a significant performance drop in crossfired 4850's (and I presume 4870's) between 2 x 16 and 2 x 8.

im edgeing towards the asus maximus ddr2 x38 board but im not sure. really want a pretty good overclock on air as i notice with the 4870 and cpu clocked to 3 ghz brings up my minimum frames quite a bit. so wouldnt mind paying extra for a board if i can get around 3.5ghz otherwise may as well go for a cheaper board and stick with 3ghz.
