Overclocked bundle not overclocked?

So I've finally taken delivery of my i7 bundle which was supposed to be oc'd to 4.00ghz. BIOS and win7 both report the cpu speed as 2.66.

I tried loading optimised defaults in BIOS but they were the same as the default ones. The board came shipped with the processor and memory on it and there was some paste residue on the cpu, so someone's obviously done something with it at some stage.

Any ideas?

It is of course, highly possible that I'm missing something blindingly obvious. :(

Edit: Yes, sorry wrong forum - I meant to cut and paste this but forgot....perhaps a kind mod can move it.

And I should mention I did try calling the support line several times today but it was engaged.

If it isnt clocked then yeah do as insanity says, however windows does report a CPU at its rated speed not actual, download cpuz, and dont forget to run it at same time as something like IBT, either that or turn off speedstep

My 4Ghz is shown as 2.66 on windows 7, reload your overclocked profile and try downloading CPU-Z and run as said.

Windows 7 uses a processor ID i guess not the actual speed!

Do load it tho to show what it will run at, not just a idle reading!

As Happy has mentioned there should be a profile saved in the BIOS.

If it's a gigabyte board press F12 when in the BIOS - and select/load the OcUK profile.

Yeah I'd already tried that - just checked again now to be sure and there's nothing from ocuk in there, just various flavours of 'last known successful' all of which are the same.

Then you need to send OcUK either a webnote or better still post in the customer service forum as they will probably be able to supply you with the most suitable/correct settings for your clock.
