Been having difficulty tracking down OCUK staff for questions in regards to this bundle. So registered on the forum to ask a few Q's. For those that have the bundle I wondered if you could answer a few questions?

1) What volts did OCUK put in your chip? What VID did your chip come with?

2) Do you know how it is tested? Prime for 8 hours? Have you personally tested prime at the rated speed for 8 hours+?

3) What temps are you reaching idle/fully loaded?

4) Did any of you have concerns on the HSF fitting in your case and if so did they offer you an alternative at a discount as part of the bundle still? Or you pay the extra on top of the normal HSF?

5) How long did your package take to arrive?

6) If you have any general pros & cons about the bundle can you just list them.

Im tempted with the bundle as the offer price (assuming it continues at around the mark it currently is) is more or less the same price as the individual parts but they go through the labour of the BIOS for you. You then just need to fine tweak it a bit when putting in your computer. Sounds good to me.

Cheers

the bundle is the best money can buy they test it inside of a box to see how it will perform in bad air flow, fully loaded it can reach 90c but from what i have been told its ok and within the cpu limits at idle it stays around 40c,this all depends in what case you are putting it in as well,im quite happy with mine really quick at doing my 3d work and games i highly recommend a haf 932 or alike to run this bundle, the heatsink fan is the best they use for it quite easy install as well.

Hi i too have been trying for some time now to contact ocuk without success I have the same bundle and it has never run properly from day one. It will not run on overclocked speeds only at stock speed (even then it is very tempremental not booting shutting down etc) from reading the forum it seems that it is a hit or miss with this bundle. I will continue to try and get someone from ocuk to look into the problem but so far it is very dissapointing both the bundle and the customer support from ocuk :( (after all I had paid the extra to have it work out of the box ).

1) What volts did OCUK put in your chip?

1.3v in the bios, which runs at 1.28v in windows idle and 1.26v on full load

2) Have you personally tested prime at the rated speed for 8 hours+?

No not 8 hours, I have tested it for a couple of hours on a very hot day though and it passed the test.

3) What temps are you reaching idle/fully loaded?

80 - 85c max on prime, high 60s to mid 70's (depending on room temp) at most on normal full load from applications etc.
40-46c idle

4) Did you have concerns on the HSF fitting in your case?

Nope

5) How long did your package take to arrive?

3 days

6) If you have any general pros & cons about the bundle can you just list them.

Pros - worked at 4ghz straight from setting up, no hasstle of having to spend hours working on the overclock. havnt had any stability issues at all (ive had this 6 weeks).

Cons- Well none really, although I had to re-seat the HSF, as when I first assembled it the temps were in mid 90s on prime (although the pc was stable). I got the Fenrir and I didnt know It was best to fill the gaps between the heat pipes on the bottom of it. Once I had done this the temps went down loads! (see above temps).

Cheers Spartacus, thats useful.

Will wait a bit til next special offer i think. Plus will prob hold longer til I5 and some price drops. THe highly overclocked E8600 still keeps my system going fine. More of a case im bored waiting to upgrade ;)

1) What volts did OCUK put in your chip? What VID did your chip come with?

chip VID varies greatly
if i have to do a lot of tweaking then i put the bios on a usb pen so the customer has their individual settings
i use minimal voltage i can find stability at, its all part of the service
i believe that as you are paying for the overclock - my role as the technician is to support the overclock and overclock each bundle as if it were my own system :)

2) Do you know how it is tested? Prime for 8 hours? Have you personally tested prime at the rated speed for 8 hours+?

i test each bundle for as long as i can - some with initial problems are tested overnight [14 hours]
others get the standard 8

3) What temps are you reaching idle/fully loaded?
this depends on the end user fitment unfortunatly
load should be around 85 in a good case [with lots of airflow]

4) Did any of you have concerns on the HSF fitting in your case and if so did they offer you an alternative at a discount as part of the bundle still? Or you pay the extra on top of the normal HSF?

i have written a guide on the forums for people who are unsure - following this alongside the fitment guide in the cooler should do the trick

5) How long did your package take to arrive?

i get most packages done as soon as they finish testing, during busy periods there can be delays, but i try my best to get a good output so that customers wait for minimal time

I have the 4ghz bundle, which came with the Fenrir. But changed my heatsink to the Noctua NH-U12P.

Case is the original Coolermaster Stacker, highest temp I've seen is 81c. Using Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound as well.

This is with the voltage set at 1.3v on my board.

you could probably try to drop that a bit if you feel confident

drop a notch and test - rinse and repeat until it fails then put it a notch up

this way you find the lowest voltage

If you could post a link to your guide, that would be very helpful, as I will be putting mine together this weekend, and I can't find where you posted it.

TIA
