*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz + Free Game

£125 for an extra 200 mhz.. must be taking the mick a little...??? Even the 4ghz bundle is about £50 more expensive than it was a week or so ago.. I got my bundle for £539.. and a simple increase in the bios hits 4.2ghz no worries...

Sort it out OCers.....

you get an upgraded cooler with the 4.2ghz bundle

Ok, putting the 4.2GHz package aside. How is it now justified to charge £30 more for 3.8GHz(£569) that's easier to overclock than the 4.0GHz & less powerful, which was going for £539 less than 24-hours ago.

Don't get me wrong this isn't directed to you rjkoneill, you're doing a hell of a job, but the management has gone too far and turned a popular bundle (because of its value) to a complete joke.

Again not concerned about the 4.2 package, I'm sure that does take a lot more attention, but so damn annoyed about the 3.8/4.0.

As said above by Rich, the chips are heavily cherry picked for the 4.2GHz and very rare to do this stable, under warranty conditions for 12 months and without issue.

For the rarity + man hours involved the bundle is priced correctly, the 4.00GHz is the same price it was 2 weeks ago. :)

We have deals running and have to take into account other bundles and their pricing, promotions, staffing levels, overclock success rates and of course popularity. We do not force any of our customers to go for the higher overclock levels and the change to the bundle has not affected sales. :)

How long do you plan on selling these packages for, like I said with the increase of price it has set me back slightly, but don't want to miss out as I have not got a clue how to OC a chip -.-
Thanks

We will keep them going for as long as we can get chips which do the overclocks while being 100% stable. :)

rjkoneill, you're a busy man! But if you get a chance, could you tell me (briefly) what the testing procedure is on these bundles?

In a room where the temperature is currently above 37 deg running Prime 95 with 3D mark runs to test overall system stability and then a run through of the LinX benchmark.

All of this is done with an inferior cooling solution to the Fenrir to account for different cases effecting the cooler in different ways. :)

Ah thanks mate, good to know :)

We provide a full warranty on all the components for 12 months and the testing environment is at the edge of human endurance at the moment, Rich is litterally sweating away with these bundles.

mines still kicking out 90c plus but stopped it redone paste like rich explained and still going to 90 plus, so what next do i do in the report it states it dont go higher than 80??

Post in the customer support forum and we can help out.

I will stress that if it is stable there is NO WORRY running the 920 at 90deg+ as it is within the chips thermal limits.

LOL @ all the people complaining

Newsflash: OcUK is a BUSINESS. Nobody is forcing you to go for the bundles, if you don't like the price then don't buy it

If you're that bothered just buy the components seperately and have a go at taking it to 4.2 yourself.

Just LOL, get a grip people

If your answer to unhappy customers is "Get a Grip", good luck if you ever run a company.

Quick question, was about to order yesterday and saw a drop-down menu including an option for a USB backup/documentation thing for around £6.99 (something along those lines), is that now included?
