Anyone got one of these and are they really any faster than say the Samsung Evo.
Or is this just a gimmick?

They aren't faster than my 840 Pro's or EVO's and without Rapid Mode (only on one SSD) they are slower too. Power usage is high at 5v or 6.5v on the 12v rail during sustained writes.

These are actually the first SSDs built for RAID too and think more about the endurance (70GB writes daily vs Pros 40GB) and reliability (2 MN hours and features two capacitors for power outs to save data to NAND) than speed alone. Heard from someone else their warranty is far superior and convenient than anyone else.

Certainly no gimmick with many features brought from enterprise SSDs which I think were in a hurried response in not receiving the latest NAND and missing showcase events. With TWO offers this week I'd consider them good buys. Only nitpick would be no 120GB or 960GB versions.

I have just done a load of tests with 2 x 240Gb in RAID0 and the performance is fantastic. The low down speed is pretty stunning and its running at full speed very quickly. What was pretty great was the 4K Write. I was seeing constant 250Mb a second 4K Write speeds from just 2 drives.
