Usually when I price check stuff OcUK are one of the cheapest if not the cheapest, and if the thing you want is on TWO then your onto a winner for sure.
Also i'd rather pay a few quid extra at OcUK for the fantastic service.
I hope people that work in the shop read this and give themselves a pat on the back, job well done.
I think that the service and support etc is second-to-none from OcUK, and I do not always find that where OcUK are more expensive it is by enough to warrant me looking elsewhere.
However, my review there only applies when you *don't* have to talk to the sales staff!
i've not really had an issue with any but i go with OCUK as i can select royal mail and they're really good in my area. 07:30 on day of delivery pretty much guarenteed and if i miss it then its only a trip to the post office.
I find the prices fine, the delivery fine as well. The replys to questions are also fast.
However some of the tech support fail at basic comprehension.
eg. My mobo broke I sent my pc to a tech and got him to buy a replacement from OCUK. I tell OCUK this and request credit, afterall I did just buy a more expensive mobo from them as my replacement. Having been refused a refund beforehand of course, afterall I bought this thing a huge 3 months ago.
The reply, yes here is you RMA number we will send you a replacement. No mention of anything else at all.
I buy everything from somewhere local, been doing so for years, they're cheaper for many items and any problems I just go down to them. If I want something fast its convienient.
If you ran a business and a forum attached to it would let people post negative comments about your company or anything about competitors on it?
Though so
OcUK service is fantastic, well worth the premium on some products. Now, wheres my G15 OcUK? You took it in for repair a few weeks ago and I've heard nothing since, stop gaming on my keyboard!
Not all do, the one I go to has everything...their batch of G0s were newer than ones from e-tailers...most stuff in my spec is from them, and I saved money going there, quite a fair bit to be honest.
I have to say, last week I urgently needed a copy of XP home for a client. I couldn't take a gamble on some other competitors because I know things can get delayed in the warehouse so next day isn't always next day. On turining to OC, I ordered at 9:30am, the item was dispatched within the hour and received within 24 hours..
Unfortunatly i have a just had a negative experience with OCUK.
I put in a order for over 1000£ last week and it was to be delivered on Saturday.
Nothing came and after calling both OCUK and City Link i found out that the parcel is missing.
I asked OCUK to refund my money but they informed me that they would have to do an investigation and that it could take over a week before i get my money back.
Very disapointed as I heard good things about OCUK and was willing to pay a bit extra to recieve good service.
Did you pay extra for Saturday delivery? If an item has gone missing after dispatch then that's hardly their fault. That said, I'm sure they'll do everything they can. After all , the item will be insured but these things take time. You can't expect them to just refund on the front of a conversation. Procedures need to be taken.. as with any retailer..
