Overclockers refusing to refund £250

Made an order from overclockers sent the wrong item. Told they had shipped out the correct item. Turns out it was out of stock. I asked for a refund a week ago. This was agreed and told it had been done. I have not received my refund. I need this money. I am disabled and autistic. They have now cut the phone lines and are refusing to respond to me
 
I'm sorry that you have had this happen to you!
You should ring your bank or credit card company, and do a charge back.
 
Thank you for tagging a staff member. Not sure if they will help though. They have refused to respond to calls or emails since they promised the refund. They even apologised about the service but haven’t helped or actioned anything


I feel bad posting here

But I ended up buying a monitor from elsewhere paying £100 more for the same as the sales are now over. And now I’m short because I was told I had been refunded.

I’m now overdrawn and have bills to pay that I don’t have money for

FWIW, despite the shop being very hit or miss recently, the forum is a great place. So hopefully you stick around :)

I don't work for the shop, but can only apologise.

Not that it's an excuse, but I'm sure you appreciate this time of year is ridiculously busy, so despite best intentions some things do get missed/overlooked even when things are promised.

Hopefully your situation gets resolved soon.

I know it’s busy but a refund is just a few clicks of a button and they chap on the phone said he had actually done it. Thank you though it means a lot people actually responding and helping

I really hope someone at overclockers does sort this.

Like I said I’m now overdrawn and and panicking as I have more bills. The only reason I bought a different one was because I’d been told they had done it

There are a lot of funny, nice and helpful people on here, and it's pretty well populated. There are some people you'll clash with, but don't take it to heart and just put them on the ignore list.
So hopefully you enjoy yourself and return once this is sorted out :)

Just to prewarn you, IIRC you can only post 10 times a day when you first join. So don't be alarmed when you can't post anymore for the day :)
Oh and the forum likes to **** the bed frequently and become very slow, or the website itself goes down sometimes.
So remember that, as I don't want you worrying that OCUK staff have banned you or whatever.

Looking on their website says it can take up to 30 days

We will reimburse you within 30 days of receipt of the goods using the same means of payment as you used when placing the order.

The chap on the phone said he had refunded and it could take 3 working days. I also used to work in banking an now how long these take.

I’m worried this is because I complained about a staff member being really unhelpful then not sending tracking info when he promised to do so.

I have now been offered help by a mod who is also OC staff. Said they usually don’t do this but will look into it and took my order number. I am very grateful for the help. I hope this will now be resolved but I will update here. Thank you to @deviation @Armageus

The calls are all recorded also so they will have a record of the call

I've spoken with the relevant departments and it appears a system error resulted in the transaction not flagging to finance to process the refund. This has now been resolved and your refund has now been processed from our side, so will be with you as soon as your payment provider has processed it from their side.

Please accept my apologies for this, and I have been assured the technical issue has now been addressed so it won't occur again.

None of my tickets have been responded to

This has made me ill with stress

And I definitely feel me complaining has impacted my refund

I'm glad it's been sorted, but I'm gutted for you at the same time, if this was your first experience using OCUK, then that is even worse!
Try not to let it get to you, it's completely understandable that this would make you panic/anxious/ill, it's your money, and not everyone has a emergency nest egg, should something go wrong - which is something people forget/take for granted.
I hope you feel better soon.
