Overclocking 8350 voltage issues

This is driving me crazy, hope somebody can help me with this.

I've decided to overclock my amd 8350 black edition using the hydro h80 closed loop cooler. Im starting to realise why people spend £££ on motherboards unlike my crappy gigabyte 970a dsp3.

So i've disabled all the power saving settings in the bios and enabled high performance computing and load line control. Now this board still undervolts under load even when using llc so ive adjusted the cpu vid to bring the actual cpu vid inline. Because if this im using amd overdrive to overclock and this is where the big problems start.

While running the stress test at stock the voltage drops by only 30mv so i get 1.2200 instead of 1.2500. This is fine but if i up the voltage to say 1.3250 it will drop again by 30mv but every 10 or so minutes plunge to 1.2200!

The other problem i have is that as soon as i go over 1.3250v on cpu vid my multiplayer goes back to stock. This is instant which leads me to believe it cannot be heat related.

Would really appreciate any help.

Cpu does not go above 50c.

It may be the VRMs overheating meaning they down clock to keep themselves cool. Whats the vrm cooling like on that board?

Less than great, ive moved my water cooling radiator and fans out of the case so that it pulls some air across the vrms. Somethings happened since yesterday, as yesterday i was playing bf4 for 50 minutes before it crashed at 4600mhz, 1.4125v. But not today. Cannot get 4200mhz so so somethings wrong.

Does it still run when everything is set to stock? Looking at the board it does have some vrm cooling but not a huge amount.

With LLC I try not to go too high as it overcompensates, seems odd that it'll still be drooping even with LLC set to max amount

Actually llc is running in normal mode. I did try extreme but that went full mental and added an extra .2v, ended up at 1.55v +before i shut it down.

i now have a 1 140mm side fan, 1 120mm intake fan, 1 120mm fan on-top of the vrm heatsink and 2 corsair 120mm external fans sucking air out of the case past the radiator plus the gfx fan, so thats 6 fans in total. should be covered heat wise but i cannot get over 1.3250 without the multiplier scaling back to default and the higher voltage i push for the lower the multiplier. I starting to wonder if this is a software issue with overdrive.

Ah, yeah you need to make sure to turn that off first otherwise it does crazy stuff :D Good that you've got it sorted now though :) sorry for my scare mongering!

Dont bother with software overclocking the bios is the place to do it IMHO. Software is good for testing things out.
