Overclocking a 3770k with a Gigabyte Z77X-UP7

Finally got my 3770k!

And it's been delided too :eek:

Batch: MALAY L248C117 ( Any information on it's batch? )

Now I can't seem to get this board to apply voltage properly

So far I've set LLC to Extreme and taken everything off auto voltages to normal.

RAM is left on auto but I've ordered some of this : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-052-TG

CPU is cooled by a EK LTX CQS and a Phobya 480mm radiator.

Any base line settings would be appreciated.

I would love to get it to at least 4.8Ghz if possible ( BTW what's the max safe 24/7 voltage for Ivy? )

Although you once told me that your max safe Vcore for Sandy Bride was 1.475v

What's your safe 24/7 Ivy voltage?

Every time I try to run Cinebench it crashes.... Linpackx64 fails too....

Currently at 4.5Ghz @ +0.010v and LLC on high

Even with 1.4v it still won't run Cinebench

Vcore is +0.015

LLC is Extreme

DRAM is 1.55v

Max Power is 500w

Max current is 300a

C states are disabled

C1E is enabled

Everything else is on AUTO

This CPU is really kicking my ass..... Can't get it to pass anything over 4.4Ghz..

Surely the chip isn't THIS bad

I followed it exactly

BIOS is the latest official release

With everything set to 'auto' I got the following during a run of Cinebench

Max Vcore - 1.236

Lowest idle Vcore - 0.972v

BIOS is saying 1.212v at stock.

That seems high?

If this chip is crap I can get my hands on a Costa Rica : 3244C489

I've gone for the Costa chip......

Apparently it's Intel Burn Test stable at 4.7Ghz with 1.25v so seems decent.

BTW... What's the max safe volts for Ivy?

Was thinking 1.4v myself..... Pack told me 1.475v for Sandy Bridge so with the smaller process 1.4v sounds about right for Ivy.

Got the 44 week Costa chip now and my god what a difference!!

It's able to complete Intel burn test in standard RAM test at 4.9Ghz with 1.308v

The last chip couldn't even boot into windows at 4.7Ghz with that voltage!

Going to go for 5Ghz I think which should be attainable!

My 2400Mhz RAM is here too but it's 1.65v, is that's safe on Ivy's IMC?

Temps aren't bad.... It'll need a de-lid though I reckon to make is 24/7 at 5Ghz...

Hope I can get there with 1.35v or less.

BOOM!! Got 5Ghz at 1.368v while running Intel Burn Test... chip will need a de-lid...will attempt over the weekend.

My new RAM won't run with it's XMP settings though

I only do 5 runs with high RAM tested...Once it passes that then I don't touture it after that.

Not touched any volts related to memory... So what should increase to 1.15v the VTT?
