Hi I just got a x1800xt and i'm not impressed by the ATI software it seems really fiddly and stupid.
I just ran ATI tool and my memory can run stable upto 828 - So I set the memory to 828 Via ATI Tool, however according to ATI Overdrive it says its on 693 and requested 747? What the hell?
And how do I overclock with ATI Overdrive, what the hell is all this requested crap whats it actually running at and why cant I go past 800 on the mem?
If I use say Rivatuner or something will this override what ATI Overdrive is doing?

BTW no posts like nvidia is better than ATI etc, because this is a cracking card I'm just not used to the software/like the ATI software interface.

Hi, its ok yeah Rivatuner does the trick.
Anyone like me going fron nVidia to ATI Should use ATI tool to find their max clocks, and set them via Rivatuner and tell it to boot with them at startup.
Or alternatively (which I think I might do), is set them via the bios after finding the max overclocks via ATI tool.

A good point of the ATI software is the VPU recover, I think its brilliant, if anything goes wrong with your card, if it overheats or crashes due to artifiacts or anything, give it a few seconds and it comes up with a error report and the pc is working again, no need to reset your pc or anything.
