hey guys, its been a while since ive haunted this place, but i'm currently clueless as to solve this problem:
ok so i have a revision B2 e6300 sitting happily on 2.8ghz stable for the past couple of months. this is on a p965-ds4 along with a 2gb set of geil pc2-6400 rated at 4-4-4-12. i'm gettin 2.8ghz via a fsb of 450 x7 and using a memory multiplier of two. i'm trying to go higher, but there are no lower memory multipliers available in the bios. if i raise the fsb by 20mhz the pc refuses to boot up. is this the brick wall of my motherboard or is there any way i can get past this? woul relaxing mem timings and bumping voltage help? i also notice even though this set is meant to work at 4-4-4-12, cpu-z is reporting the SPD contains 5-5-5-18 at 400mhz on the timings table although the part number says its CL4-4-4DDR2-800. i can't see anywhere to change the memory timings in the bios strangely enough. any help is much appreciated.
