I was thinking of overclocking my cpu and was wondering if anyone knew what clockspeeds I can get it to? Also how would I go about doing this?

What cooler do you have? I've got the same motherboard as you. To overclock it normally you go into the bios and increase the multiplier.

I have the antec h2o 620 water cooler, oh really well ive never done this before so dont really want to start just tweaking incase i destroy something (pretty poor cant afford new stuff due to accidents)
Where in the bios would it be found?

I have the same chip as you and would like to know how it goes.

It should be under CPU in the bios, just flicking through the screens should show it up, just knock the multiplier up and the v-core if unstable. Just make sure it's under 62 degrees.

Ok well i gave it a go and put it to 3.8Mhz seemed to be stable booted slightly faster as well, until i decided to play crysis 3 which worked fine for about 15-20 minutes and the screen became funny, so i reverted back to 3.4 and then up to 3.5 which is fine.
I think to overclock muc higher i need a new PSU.

Yeah it was at 3.8GHz when it went funny the screen kind of.....wobbled and went discoloured. Nope i didnt dont know much about that and couldnt find any info so didnt want to play lol.

I may be running on nothing, but it seems to be ok at 3.8GHz.

I would recommend setting it to 3.8 and raising to core voltage a tad, only to the next highest, since it seems to be ok. Then see if its stable, i just think that it can run on the voltage at 3.8, but needs a bit more.

i may be called vcore or core voltage, im not too sure..

Ok so I tried that and now my pc turns on but wont boot anything not even screen to enter bios help pleae !!!

It may not have worked then, you will have to clear the cmos and reset it. It may just be worth keeping it at whatever is stable.

Heres what it says in your manual.

This will just reset the settings in the bios.

Ive done this it worked so I turned my pc off to close up and reattach mouse etc. And now its just not working again :-s cleared cmos again and nothing

You should always have a good quality power supply whether you overclock or not and a psu made my CIT is basically bagain basement rubbish. Your psu will most certaily limit you with an overclock.

The psu imo is the most important component you have. The best makes are made by seasonic who make their own, xfx pro, antec HCG and corsair gold rated models. They used to make the corsair silver and bronze models but there are now made by CWT who is another low quality manufacturer.
