Hi

Sorry if I'm being stupid but I seem to be having a problem Overclocking my
E6850, the multiplier is set at 9 x 1333Mhz = 3GHZ stock speed

Now I changed it to 1400Mhz 9 x =315Mhz it should be 3.60MHZ I also tried

1423 x 9 = 3.20Mhz and I thought it should be 3.80Mhz now the only change I made is with the FSB

What am I doing wrong the spec of my PC is below, I did have a E6660 and all I changed with this Cpu was the FSB to 1333 x 9 and I reached 3Ghz on air with no other changes, now I'm sure its not the Cpu,

1400 x 9 is 3150mhz. You'd need 1600 x 9 for 3600mhz.

And 1423 x 9 is 3200mhz. You'd need 1689 x 9 for 3800mhz.

Ok. Divide 1600 by 4 to get 400mhz (the 'true' FSB). Then multiply 400 by 9 to get 3600mhz.
