Overclocking For Battfield 4 & COD Ghosts

think id rather go Air Cooler to be honest, the NZXT Phantom 410 has all the rubber port things for water cooling but not really soimething id go for.

those are for running external radiators, pay them no attention, go on youtube and have a look at something like the Antec 620/Corsair H80 and see how you like it. Otherwise air-cooling looks like its up your street.

Just make sure you buy some good thermal paste to go with it! Such as MX4 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TH-003-AR

+ many others, all of the ones I linked would perform very well, see what ones you like and what you can afford, then check it out on youtube to see if anyone has done a review/unboxing video :)

warning: some of these are WAY bigger than the picture does justice, hence youtube!

sorry to sound neive on this but if i purchased one of these water coolers would they be a replacement for all the fans in my case ? or would i still need them as well ? at the moment with with my NZXT Phantom 410 my fans are quiiet untill i switch them but i get a pulsing vibration which irritates me lol

yeah you still need your case's fans to suck cool air in to cool the motherboard and other components ect

aio watercoolers are just for cooling the cpu

Never really felt CPU limited with BF4 (got it installed on systems with 3610QM and 4820K) - even a stock 3770K I'd have thought quite happily powers a single 670 - I'd imagine you'd only see meaningful gains from clocking it in that title with high end multi GPU.

Clocking the GPU should produce some fairly good results though on both of the systems I have BF4 installed on atm the performance just keeps climbing as far as I can turn the GPU clocks up even with the CPU at stock.

Hi rroff, sorry not replied soon been run off my feet with work, i wanted to start playing BF4 this weekend and thought if you have the 3700k and the 670 just like me then maybe the GPU overclock is a good idea

What sort of OC settings do you put yours on can you tell me ? i put mine on 110% for power target then +100mhz for GPU clock offset and the same for mem clock offset on precision X and it seems a little better but i dont know how much to push it

what do you have yours set on, and what kinda of temp area do i wanna start worrying at ?

check my specs both my GPU and CPU are overclocked (still got to put my CPU back to 4.6 currently on 4.4) , BF4 performs beautifully unfortunately both games are in their infancy the only reason I had to go back to 4.4 is BF4 really did not like 4.6ghz I got no blue screen errors just BF4.exe would crash in 5 mins flat, 4.4 made it infinitely more stable but BF4 has been crashy since its release anyway.
