I have an E6600, P5-B Deluxe, and Corsair 6400 C5 RAM.

@ 352 fsb - CAS4 - RAM 1:1 I can run Orthos Blend no problems for hours

@ 352 fsb - CAS5 - RAM 4:5 Its only stable for 3 mins, same Vcore

OK - should be the RAM - BUT it passes MemTest86 in DOS with no errors at all @ 352 fsb ? Is MemTest not a very good test ?

In my opinion yes, I no longer use it exclusively for testing RAM, I find Prime Blend can fail within minutes due to RAM when Memtest doesn't seem to pick anything up.

Running without errors in Memtest for a couple of hours doesn't necessarily mean that your RAM is 100% stable.

What volts you running on the ram?
Have you tried upping a bit?
My stuff would not hit over 400MHz on 2.1v stock rating, but is hitting 475MHz with 2.2v and everything stable.

interesting one guys .. I changed a few settings in bios that I've tried before (C1E off, Speedstep Off) -but I've tried it before and made no difference whatsoever...

but this time.. I tried Spread Spectrum to ON - normally I'd tried OFF, or AUTO

now RAM is Orthos stable @ 890, vs 840 before, big difference, could this really be because of the Spread Spectrum setting ? Everyone normally says for overclocking OFF is the one to go for ?
