Great spec, can't believe you went for the 4600+ (512kb cache x 2) over the 4400+ (1mb x 2 cache)

As for overclocking, there are quite a few guides on various forums, including one sticky here. You may want to read them :)

i thought id benefit more with the extra speed for what i use the machine for. ive checked other forums but the guys on here seem more in the know! and maybe some one has a similar machine? i literally have never o`cd in my life save the overdrive feature on the gfx card ! lol.....

If you have never overclocked before then the last thing you should be doing is coming on here asking for us to overclock for you with no knowledge of what settings we would tell you to change in the BIOS.

Overclocking is a delicate business, and you are messing around with hundreds of pounds worth of hardware. If you screw it up then you're in trouble and that's an expensive mistake to make.

Go read some guides, get acquainted with all the common terms and options, and THEN ask us for overclocking tips. You need a bit of time and patience to learn it, time that many of us here had to spend reading what was what.

Here are some reccommended guides:

Somewhat complete A64 overclocking guide... http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=151373

Athlon64 overclocking techniques... http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Guides/athlon64oc/index.html

Condensed A64 overclocking guide... http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=847481

Please put a bit of effort in and do some reading off your own back to at least get a grasp of the basics before you start overclocking, you'll thank yourself in the long run. ;):)

point taken but i didnt really explan myself to well! i have read about overclocking for years and am well educated in bios and what each setting involves and what each consequence may be. ive dabbled in minimal overclocking shall we say, that being adjustment of the FSB which is as basic as it comes. a better question would be, what "theoretically" may i push my cpu? to people who have the same memory, has anyone of them overclocked? apologies once again.

Well you should theoretically be able to get at least ~2.6ghz with that setup using a divider.

Just follow the overclocking procedures as explained in the guides and find the limits of your CPU/memory yourself, more satisfying that way. :)
