Overclocking help needed

I used to be able to overclock my E6600 to around 3.2 ghz on air no probs.

Now it wont go past the standard 9 x 266 = 2.40 ghz. The machine will turn itself off even with a 5 ghz increase and reset back to 2.40.

I have a P35 DSR3 Gigabyte motherboard.

Any obvious idea's that I am missing?

Try clearing the CMOS and then loading the Optimized Defaults.

thanks dude, worked like a dream. I can even clock higher to 3.6 on air (have a Silverstone Temjin with Air Tunnel - which can get quite frosty at times!)
