Hey guys,

I suppose i should start off by posting my build;
Asus P8P67 Deluxe Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR3 1866MHz
Intel i5 2500K CPU

I have tried to overclock my CPU to 4.0GHz and all seems fine upon restarting my computer, after about 15 mins my computer crashes and restarts itself.

The reboot is unsuccessful and the MEMOK! LED on the motherboard is illuminated, after holding the button down for a few seconds the computer restarts and returns to the BIOS where it states that the MEMOK! button has been successful.

After saving the new timings and voltages that the MEMOK! has altered, I restart my computer and all works fine for the first 15 minutes then it crashes and illuminates the MEMOK! LED again.

I have tried to manually force the correct timings and voltages for the RAM but nothing seems to work!

If anyone has any solution or advice it would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks,

Thanks for the response guys!

mickyflinn, by detailed memory model do you mean the specifications i.e. voltage, timings etc?

Disco_P, Where abouts is the "optimised defaults" within the BIOS? I'm not too sure what XMP is.

Apologies if these are basic terms, I'm fairly new to this overclocking stuff.

Go into the bios and hit F5 and it'll load "optimised defaults" which are the defaults for the board and what works for most people. Go into advanced mode, AI tweaker then change turbo mode to "XMP". You'll also want to go to advanced and sata configuration and make sure it's in AHCI mode if you are using an SSD.

I could probably go through some pictures of the bios of the board and tell you what settings to change to get an overclock. But first we need to ensure that you are stable at stock.

I can find the "optimised defaults" setting and the system seems to be perfectly stable, however i cannot find the option to change the turbo mode to XMP. The only options are auto or manual.

Sometimes loosing yout memory timings will help, set them to 13.13.13.30 @1.5v for now and test cpu again @ 4ghz.

Also what bios version do you have ?
