Hi All,

I have this setup that I have just got up and running:

OcUK IMP microATX case
Asus P8H61 MX Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX
OcUK Value 500W PSU
TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Intel i3 2120 3.3ghz

Now OcUK have just sent me this email:

Here are the tweaked overclock settings that will need to be entered into your bios which should allow a stable clock of 4.5Ghz

Enter BIOS

Select Overclocking

Adjust CPU Frequency - 45
Adjust CPU Ration in OS - Enabled
Internal PLL Overvoltage - Enabled
DRAM Frequency - Link
Adjusted DRAM Frequency - 1600mhz
Spread Spectrum - Disabled
Vdroop Control - Auto
CPU Core Voltage - 1.395v
DRAM Voltage - 1.6v
CPU PLL Voltage - 1.86000v

Now I've looked in the bios, which I have to say, is much different to any bios i've navigated my way round before! It says to go into overclocking, but that option doesn't exist. I've gone into advanced mode and AI tweaker, like the user manual says, but almost all of the settings are set to Auto and can't be changed I dont think.

Anyone have any pointers for me? I'm used to basic bioses of old, not this new stuff!

Thanks
James

Not sure how that's supposed to work.

They're asking you to change the multiplier to 45.

The i3-2120 has a locked multiplier and I don't believe H61 motherboards allow you to change the multiplier anyway.

H61 boards only allow for minor bus speed tweaking, as Surveyor says, multipliers are locked on both processor and motherboard.

And out of concern for your system you might want to look into a replacement PSU.

I know the PSU isn't great. Infact the one I had was DOA, I just picked up the replacement from OcUK this morning.

It wont be doing anything heavy, just browsing the web / emails etc.

Thanks for the advice with the overclocking. I guess i'll just leave it as it is then. As said above, I don't NEED the extra speed, but its always welcome if its possible ;)

Thanks all :)
