my first post so ill start by saying hi
ive joined this forum hoping to gain some knowledge on o/c'ing as im a complete novice,im a keen gamer and want to get the best out my system as the missus has put a halt on my pc funds
.my system is as follows:-
intel Q6600 (oc'd to 2.6ghz lol)cooled with akasa evo blue.
asus striker extreme m/b.
2x1gig corsair ddr2 800mhz xms2 mem (paired).
asus 8800gts (oc'd using riva tuner).
X-FI platinum sound.
all ive done to get 2.6ghz is raised the fsb in the bios,if i try to get anymore out of it my comp locks up so i had a read up and tried the following,raised the fsb to 1332 (333x4),ram ratio1:1,ram voltage 2v,v-core 1.35 comp wouldnt start and had to clear c-mos and start again
,your all probably thinking moron at the mo so any help will be very much appreciated
ideally id like to run at around 3ghz,ive also had no probs heat wise.once again hi and thanks for any help

really loudly aswell,ive just put an old 400w psu in to make sure my comp aint dead and to post this so im getting a new psu tmrw by the looks of it.i was using a win power 500watt psu,is it supprising it went pop?i will be getting better lol,maybe 6-700watts?anyway thanks for the reply m8

like i say if anyone has dealings with either this particular psu or any psu from the EZcool range i would like to know what you think,ive also taken onboard what you have said and when the time is right i will purchase a more reputable psu like the corsair
