overclocking help

ah right ok, I'll wait for a second oppinion too, I just dont understand that I've been running BF2 all day with no errors and for prime 95 to error within half a second :confused: :confused:

A lot of ppl find that with games, where it will work fine with no probs at all mainly because the CPU/RAM isnt being fully loaded all the time so no errors will occur, but as Prime95 has it running at 100% load for an extended period of time, thats when errors can occur.

This can be because the CPU cant handle the clock speed or hasnt got enough power to let it run at the higher clock speed.

I would have thought so yeah, increase it in small increments if your BIOS allows you to, till you can run Prime95 stable.

For max stability you should run it for a good few hours, but at the moment to see if the increased voltage is helping then 10-20mins should give an ok indication.

Hope you get it sorted, let us know how you get on.

i put the FSB down a bit and it didn't fail straight away but lasted about 5 mins lol, I can change 3 voltages,
chipset: 1.5 -> 1.6
HT: 1.20 -> 1.25
cpu: the max I can set it at is 1.550, it goes down from that by 1.5375 - 1.525 1.50
