Hey.

I would like to overclock my Phenom II X3 but hav'nt got the foggiest how to! If anyone has the chip and would like to provide me with a step by step of to OC the chip to around 3.7/3.8/3.9 that would be excellent!

Either through BIOS or the AMD Overdrive utility would be great.

Full Specs Here:

AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black (Current: 3.0Ghz)
M4a79 Deluxe
OCZ 4GB RAM 1066Mhz

Windows 7 x64bit.

(I also have OCCT)

Thanks a lot.
Andy.

very funny, but not all that helpful. That link will show a lot of review sites and overclocking results, and the poor guy will have to dig through page after page to find any that actually tell you *how* to overclock.

To the OP, here are a couple of intimidating how-to threads. I wish someone could point me and you to something a little less heavygoing, an overclocking for dummies page, say.

If you guys want a overclock with no work input pay ocuk for a bundle if you want to get your hands dirty do what the rest of us did read read read! I never mind helping people if their stuck but come on at least read the basics come back here tell us how far you got and you will find a lot of people happy to help. You need to remember the older members get a little fed up with a newer people joining up asking for help that same questions over and over then never to be seen again most dont even post a thank you

oh welcome to the forums ;)

Get into the bios...in my experience nothing beats trial and error each machine/ set up is different. if you never oc'd before leave memory as is and concentrate on bumping the cpu a little.

google around for that cpu and tag overclocking on the end you will come up with some good pointers...a word to the wise, only follow guides from reputable sources, try benchtec a few of the guys are pretty hot on AMD stuff.

good luck!
