overclocking issues - q6600, ocz reaper and asus p5k premium....

nice one, thanks for that Thebug.

I might try pushing it up a bit tonight. What cooling do you use and what are your temps?

oh, and the other thing:

do you guys reckon its better for a high cpu and low ram speed, i.e. 3600mhz cpu and 800mhz ram, or 3200mhz cpu and 1066+mhz ram?

Thermalright ultra 120 Extreme with Sharkoon silent eagle 1000rpm fans and my temps are 42,41,41,40 idle and goes upto 67 loaded.

If you read through the P5K-E overclocking guide thread (posted the link in a previous post) it will show you the options that you need to change to adjust the CPU ratio.. The BIOS on these boards is very similar

Basically controls the dividers that are avaliable, also lower FSB Straps can limit the Max FSB that the board will run at, basically the general wisdom on P35 Asus boards is that they run most stable @ 333mhz dont ask me why I dont know :)

Thanks chief, could you add that bit to your overclocking thread as It seems to be a worthwhile piece of info :)
