Hey.
I have tried to overclock my i5 2500k many times in the past and also recently. But for some reason it just doesn't want to happen. The motherboard I'm on is a Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 and I'm using a Gelid Tranquilo cooler.
But to be honest I dont think its heat related at all.
What happens is, I will try the overclock (using this guide http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18375640) and all will be well for a while. Temps will be fine during stress runs and gaming.
But then eventually I will get a blue screen, usually on a reboot. This will then automatically reset the overclock back to stock settings. Now I'm by no means very savvy with overclocking so maybe I'm just doing something wrong but following that guide seems pretty painless.
Even for the 4Ghz overclock I get the same issues.
Its just a shame that I cant seem to get anything to work when I have such a great CPU for OC'ing.
Does anyone know what might be causing the problem?
Cheers!
