I've ramped up my Q6600 to 2.7GHz but as a by-product my RAM isnt running at its stock speed:

This is with the multiplier set manuall at 2.5

This is set at 3.0 (which is what it defaults to when I leave it on "Auto")

My RAM is supposed to be PC8500 stuff running at 1066 anyway but it seems to default to 800MHz!?!?!?

Any advice on what to set this and the voltage control at the bottom to??

Thanks......

Firstly, push your cpu further, should be able to get at least 3.2 out of it
Secondly I wouldnt worry about your RAM speed, it has v little effect on system performance, its not a problem having it slightly underclocked if it means getting more out of cpu

Thanks for the tip but even if I leave it running at 900MHz - shouldnt I be changing the voltages or something??

Cheers,

StevieP

Probably best to keep RAM voltages stock and use the multiplier to keep the frequency close to it's rated speed.

When you've got to the limit of your CPU overclock then start fiddling with the memory if you want.
