OVERCLOCKING MY DUEL CORE CONROE TO 3.O GHZ

what do u recommend as im earning 300 pound a week, and would prefer to keep my system up to date rather than run the risk of damaging my hardware

Personally, I'd reccommend just leaving your system as it is :) Do some reasearch, read round the forums and get familiarised with overclocking and cooling then you'll be in a much better position to then proceed with overclocking :)

Enermax Liberty 620w,

Lots of people on here seem to have them, great psu IMO :)

I have the 500W versionand it's lovely :) Running :

A64 X2 4400 @ 2.65Ghz
2Gb Corsair DDR Cas 2 / 3-3-6 / 1T
x1800XT + Accelero X2
Audigy 2 ZS

Copes fine :)

The 620W is £105 ... the 500W version is arouind £72

Don't take this as trashing but I think you are trying to run before you can even walk by the sounds of it. There is a TON of information, general guides etc, you name it via google etc. You don't really need to tell everyone how much you earn a week either. We are mostly grown ups and get paid money too ;).

The Liberty PSU price can be found on OCUK's main site. Knowledge is best gained by yourself and not entirely through others. Don't rush into all of this when you don't have all the necessary knowledge and skill yet ;)

on **** the enermax liberty 620w is 99 pound and the 700w epsilon is 115 pound

P.S. Keep mentioning competitor sites and you will find yourself banned/suspended pretty sharpish ;).

I realised that you were young but a lot of usstarted at that age and learnt too through a lot of trial and error. Don't go straight for the top, start slow with the basics and just creep from there, it will be the best way to develop a feeel for all of this. What I am trying to say is that you should also do as much personal research, read up to date guides going over BIOS basics, things like that too and absorb it all. Self teaching always beats knowledge from others, although it is useful. Also don't blindly follow everyone's opinions on things etc, not everyone knows everything :). Remember what opinions are like and that everyone has one. Doesn't mean they are all right ;).

Until you have the overclocking down I really wouldn't advise going to watercooling yet. Get your head around all this first and also there are some outstanding air coolers around today anyway all capable of handling the heatdump from a 3Ghz Conroe ;).

thanks mate i wasnt going to go wading in because i dont want to destroy my pc, ive only just bought it i was just asking because you guys no what your doing, im gona read all of the overclocker guides, and once i feel i no what im doing ill get back to you tell you what im going to do, at the moment i just want power and graphics performance from my pc.

how much ?

People are very friendly and helpful on here, but treat them with some respect and at least make an effort to help yourself :) That would have taken about 5 mouse clicks to obtain that information - in fact I think it would have been less effort than posting here :p

irrelevant: YEY someone who is also from chester as well as a few others, what college u go 2?
