Hi to all, I am still a bit of a noob when it comes to OC, the signature below is the spec of my current rig, Iam just trying to OC the cpu, when I step the multiplier up to X18.0 I get OS freezes, I step it down to 17.5 and I am fine. I suppose this type of CPU can take more in terms of OC multiplier, another problem I am noticing is that the cpu voltage can only go up to 1.30V on this type of mobo. Should I invest in another better motherboard or am I doing something wrong in my OC?
Thanks for any help....

I don't know anything about your mobo but if you have not done much OC before then I suggest keeping your hardware the same for now and taking it slow.

Have you done any stress testing? Are you stable at 17.5?

You should be able to get a pretty decent OC on this chip without changing the voltage.

it's either the mobo limiting your voltage tweaking or it's not stable at 17.5 to start with

have you tried stressing the 17.5 setup for 12 hours? what speed does 17.5 give you anyway?

hi thanks for your replies, I stress tested for nearly an hour or so, at 17.5 i get 3.65Ghz, also in my mobos bios the highest voltages i can get are up to 1.30v, vcore voltage cannot be modified and is standard at around 1.475 so I cannot actually play much in terms of overclocking i suppose....
