I have overclocked my Asus Extreme mbb with 4770K to 4.6 & 4.8 GHz. However the overclock is not shown in the Windows OS (7 64 bit). When I restart or turn off my PC and go into the BIOS the overclok is saved.

When I run variuos utilities such as CPUz and increase my CPU load to 100% the max it goes to is 3.8GHz.

Then your overclock is not being applied for some reason. There are a few reasons this could happen:
a) it's not set properly in the BIOS (sometimes turbo multis and such
b) the power limit has not been increased in the BIOS, so the cpu is throttling
c) your software is out of date and needs updating

PC.1 - i7 920:4.2 + PC.2 - i7 930:4.0 all drivers up to date, Bios set correct and my CPU is not throttling.

Also not showing in win7 x64, never has done.

It may be due to Win 7 not being able to recognise the CPU yours a 4770k once overclocked, mine 930 at 4.0ghz.

Windows will recognise a stock CPU but not once its overclocked, if that makes sense.

Im concerned my games arent taking advantage of the overclock as its not showing in Windows.

Hi, just cause its not showing in the OS don't worry mine has never done and my overclock works. As long as its stable and set up properly in the Bios again it will work.

My 2 son's PC's are the same, overclock not showing in OS, they run perfectly fine.:)

Try the old favourite Prime95 just in case the choice of stress testing application makes a difference.

Ok my results are:

@3.8 Cinebench 8.16, SuperPi 1.46.143
@4.2 Cinebench 8.32, SuperPi 1.44.443
@4.4 Cinebench 8.42, SuperPi 1.44.068
@4.8 Cinebench 8.42, SuperPi 1.44.099
