Has anyone overclocked a CPU on this board: MSI M3-F Intel G31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

If so , what results did you get? I am planning on putting an E5200 in it ...

If you have'nt already got it steer well clear. MSI brings a whole new meaning to cheap and cheerful. In fact they are terrible. I would'nt touch MSI these days after the experiences i had with some of their boards last year.

Ta for that I thought as much so. I wonder why OC don't stock cheap but decent MATX S775 boards ?

Look's like I'll be going for another Gigabyte P31 board then (I have one in the kid's PC already) ... this is for a freind on a tight budget so price is a factor.

Tried eB*y*r got a mATX G41 with X4500 and HDMI out from there for £ 48 and there are similar boards from ASRock etc without the HDMI for £ 40 ish... not bad for a G41 chipset board. BTW eB*y*r only charged me £ 12.66 for delivery to CI on a whole system and will refund the VAT when asked.

Have a look out for a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L £35 ish

I have 3 additional PCs (for the Kids), 2 with GA-G31M-S2L and E5200, saved a bit by getting these boards and spent a bit extra on graphics. I have had no issues and I am well happy with em ..

There is definitely a market for cheap mobos that are not rubbish as these systems are relatively low power and can still deliver a decent performance with balanced components ... whoever has the board for sale will probably get the rest of the order as I prefer to purchase stuff from a single place and on this budget there won't be much difference in price across my usual suppilers.
