Overclocking problem

I have an e6300 which at default is 7 x 266 = 1.86ghz
At the minute it is maxing out at 7 x 333 = 2.33ghz
This is on my mATX G33 motherboard with 2gb 800mhz (rated) geil low latency ram. However on my old motherboard (DS3) before i went with SFF, i managed to get 7 x 450 = 3.15ghz ...
However it appears in the bios of my current motherboard, there is an option of changing the multiplier of the RAM, between [AUTO], [2.50] and [3.00].
I've tried both AUTO and 2.5 and they are giving me the same results.
With the FSB at 333mhz like it is at the minute, and the RAM being 2.50, my ram is clocked at around 830mhz...where-as on my other motherboard it would let me set the ram multi at 2.00, so i could get 7x400mhz instantly without overclocking ram....

It's the motherboard mate, the memory deviders aren't the best.

When clocking on your previous board, did you push your ram at all?

You could always try setting the timings a bot looser to see if the ram pushes further.
