Overclocking problem

I have got a problem with overclocking my Q6600 at the minute. I was trying to get a clock of 3.6 on it the other night at 1.45v and it didn’t want to work for me. I then tried 3.2 at the same voltage(400x8) but this also failed. I tried a slightly higher voltage of 1.475 and it still didn’t work. Now I know the chip is capable of doing these clocks as I have had it at 4ghz before, but on a different board(650i).
My current spec with the Q6600 is;
Asus P5Q-E
2x1GB OCZ Platinum(PC6400)
8800GTS 640
If any one knows if there is problems with this board that stop overclocks working on a standard bios, please let me know and I will get it flashed!
Thanks

Yep set it at 2.1, would it be anything to do with the fact i only got a 4 pin power for cpu and not 8 pin?

I couldnt get past 3.3 with only a 4 pin powersupply. Upto 3.5 now and now im more concerned about the temp then getting it higher (72/73 on hot days).

8 pin cpu power supply is recomended for quads i think.
