Hi there,

I have just tried my first overclock, curently have my E6600 at 2.8GHz, but whenever I try to push it further it comes up with a warning on boot that says:

'warning: system is now in safe mode, please change CPU or RAM setttings in bios'

I don't understand why it is giving me this warning, the temps are only at 35~degrees so can't be that surely? I haven't changed anything to do with the ram except unlinking it and disabling SLi-memory, should I up the ram frequency (currently at 800Mhz). In case it makes a difference I have an EVGA 680i, Corsair Dominator XMS2 ram, an 8800, and a Noctua NH-U12F cooling the CPU. Would be great if I could get some help with this because surely I should be able to comfortably clock this processor to 3GHz+?

Thanks

Hmm thats odd, I changed the FSB of the CPU to a higher value than before (was upping it by 40MHz each time, just upped it by 80MHz to 1346MHz) and it worked fine. So don't worry about the problem I was having, on a side note though, how easy is it to overclock memory? and is it worth it? I have heard the dominator has some voltage issues so want to be a bit careful about that.

Thanks
