overclocking problems??

hi guys i have tryed to oc my rig and have had it up @2.5 ghz when window is installed on an ide drive.
as soon as i install on my sata drive and overclock it corrupts my window install why does it do this??
specs as follows:-
amd athlon 64 3700 san diego core @2.2 ghz
1.5 gig of samsung ddr400
msi k8t neo2 v2
nvidia 7300 gt 512mb, agp 8x
seagate 160 gb hdd
temps- idle 27 load 34 @2.5 ghz on an ide drive.

overclocking/not locking your PCI speed?

I had a K8N neo2, the sata locks are only enabled on sata 3 and sata 4 connections on this board i think (nearest the cpu, next to the agp socket i think) - plug your sata cable into one of these.

i only have 2 sata connections on my board

as weescott said, you probably need to lock the bus in the bios then, have a poke around there for the correct setting jamjar
