Overclocking Queries?

Hey fellas,
Just started overclocking my rig, and I have a couple of queries...

I've got 2x1gb of G.Skill MemoryExtreme pc3200 (CAS2). I've currently got the timings at 2.5-5-3-3 and an FSB of 235. I'm going to push for more, but I was wondering: What's a safe maximum voltage I could set the memory to on air cooling?

I'm also using a AMD X2 3800+ on an A8R32-MVP Deluxe, and was wondering about the voltage settings. The cpu is currently on stock air. The maximum voltage I can set the CPU to is 1.35, but there is over-voltage setting currently at auto. This has options for +100mW and +200mW. The voltage reading in CPU-Z is 1.392. I'm asuming then, that if I set the over-voltage to +100mW and the Core voltage to 1.3, it will effectively be the same volts going to the core? :)

Also, what should I consider a safe maximum voltage for the CPU on stock air cooling.

Finally, how do I set the divider on the CPU/RAM?

Ok now I'm a tad confused :/

In memory configuration, memory clock was set to 166Mhz. "Oh ho!" I said, "Not having that" and thusly changed it to 250Mhz. The CPU frequency remains at 235. Multiplier at 4 for testing.

Now, in CPU-Z, it claims that HTT is at 235, and that the memory frequency is 188. FSB:DRAM is CPU/5.

So, can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?

Wasn't like this in the days of my trusty Barton and nf7-s 2 :/

EDIT: Oh and the command rate is suddenly 2T  This seems to have happened since I installed the latest bios :/

I dont see the problem? Your fsb is 235 and you are running a divider I take it? if you set the divider to 200 then the memory will be 1:1 with the fsb, it will not always run at 200. A64MemFreq is useful for finding out which divider and multiplier is best.

When you flashed the BIOS it may have reset everything to default, just change it back to 1T.

Thanks for the reply, but in my post I've stated that I'm trying to work out how to change the divider. The memory I'm running can do 2-3-2-5 at 200mhz, so I should be seeing a nice overclock on it.

Yeah the divider will be in the mem frequency/settings section of the BIOS you will have choices of 200 which is 1:1, obviously the 166/133 etc will make the mem run faster and those above will make it run faster than the fsb. For AMD timings are more important than memory speed, just keep it running at 1T and at 2-3-2-5 all the time.

Sound advice

If the stock vcore is 1.35 then I wouldnt go over 1.50 really and keep the load temp under 50. not sure about the memory, depends what chips it has and what is the stock vdimm?

The website states that it's rated at 2.6 - 2.75 and it's currently set to AUTO in the bios, so I'm assuming 2.75 as it got my timings of 2-3-2-5 correct the first time round.

Latest bios btw.
