Overclocking QX6700

in peoples opinion, what would be the "best" motherboard for doing FSB overclock of a qx6700 cpu
I hope so, I wasn't really planning on buying 2 mobo's, I've got a very stable overclock to 3025 at the moment with 11x and 1100 FSB however I was getting better benchmark results with FSB only overclock at 2980 and it seams to be running hotter with the multiplier increased.

Heat isn't a problem as I will be water cooled soon. I am wondering if my P5B Deluxe is OK for quad core clocking.

The P5B D is hitting about 400mhz with the Quads. Certainly one of the better P965 Quad boards.

On my current cooler temps are stopping me before my P5B is. Seems to be rock solid, behaving much better than it did with my e6600.

The A1 board just arrived, installing it now so hopefully will get some decent overclocks now! Must say the AR board packaging was a lot nicer, also the A1 didn't even have a manual with it!

Will be able let you know how my QX6700 performs on water with P5N32 SLI I also have a new P5B Delux in reserve.

Managed to get one for £315 pounds

I would have thought the unlocked multiplier would make the FSB issue redundant ?

I found I was getting better performance on benchmarks and better temps clocking the FSB up rather than raising the multiplier.

I've been messing a bit with the A1 board for about half an hour and the FSB overclock is working great now!

Well I seam to be getting some quite different results now with temps:

AR board @ 3025 with 11x multiplier / 275 FSB - Idle 43C Load 58C
A1 board @ 3200 with 10x multiplier / 320 FSB - Idle 35C Load 49C

I did notice there was a little too much thermal grease on when I swapped the boards but kinda weird there is such a big difference, I didn't write down the temps I was getting with the AR and 10x multiplier, I know it was a bit lower than the 11x
