Hi all
I have an E6600 2.4GHz OC to 3.2GHz on a 680i SLI 775 Mobo.
I followed these settings to overclock & it worked extremely well.

Question
If I upgrade to a Quad Core say like a Q6600 or Q8400 or Q9550 etc

Are the instructions captured in the link relevant to any of these CPU’s i.e. if I follow the same set up, step by step, disabling & increasing the same way, will this work or is there a chance it will crash & burn.

Hope I explained it well as I am looking to upgrade to a Quad of some description.

I've only had a quick glance at the link - but essentially, yes, the basic principles are the same when overclocking.

That guide looks pretty comprehensive and if you followed it all the way through you should have a very good grounding/uderstanding for your next chip.

Try setting up your initial clock with your new chip using the principle you've learnt - and if you find you run into problems or just want some pointers/extra info post back. There's always someone lurking about who will be happy to help someone that's read up on the subject and hit a brick wall.

Good luck.
