Overclocking using trixx

I prefer trixx to ab,cant get ab to work half the time

as for ccc and trixx it don't matter long as you enable the oc after ccc has loaded up

A trusted piece of software that has been around for God knows how many years v.s some garbage that a vendor put together in a day with the bonus of having a terrible name that's only missing SUPER+ to sound super cheap.

When i had my 7970 (sapphire) TRIXX was a lot more stable than AB, i cant remember what version of TRIXX it is but there is one that let me control the RAM voltage that AB never could.

But Afterburner sounds so much cooledr than Trixx so im sure you know what your talking about.
 
Dunno which AB version you were using, but the ones I used when I had my 7970s allowed memory voltage control just fine.

Overall, AB wins for all the great features like OSD (especially in conjunction with HWinfo64). Trixx is good for chucking on more voltage in the case of 290s at least.
 
There was a problem with the 7970 Vapour ghz that meant the only way i could undervolt was using Trixx, using AB caused problems (there's a thread on here somewhere) ive always used AB/rivatuner but if you right off a bit of software because it has a silly name not a lot of overclocking would get done :)
Trixx is far from perfect and the official one when i was using it was crap for my card but there was a version floating about that let me have better control, the stock voltage was massively high on the 7970 ghz.
 
I find trixx a bit limited, but I like to have a few profiles on the go (benching/gaming/undervolted 2d clocks/etc) which AB does well, and the monitoring software and integrated screencap/recording really does make it a one stop shop for me. Nothing wrong with trixx per se, just AB does the same and more.
