Hi guys newbie overclocker here

currently running a E2160 in a Gigabyte P35 DS3R motherboard

runs perfectly stable at 2.7 ghz 300 x9 no crashes and completes various prime tests etc etc.

now if i so much as go to 305 mhz or beyond she refuses to boot

only thing i can think of thats limiting my clock is my ram 2 x 1gb of OCZ PC6400 and 2x1gb of generic PC5300 although i've tried running a 1:1 divider and i still have problems

anyone care to offer some advice on settings i should be looking at or do you think i've reached the chips limit?

See how far you can overclock with just 2 x 1gb of OCZ PC6400 it could be the generic memory giving you problems, just a thought.

Wait, are you using 2 different RAM brands? I would try to stick to one. Raise the CPU voltage aswell if you haven't done so, that could help.

well after the bootmgr problems i've had to do a fresh install :( :( :(

so decided to drop to 2 gig of ram (matched pair of ocz sticks at 800 mhz iirc

going to see if i can push it a bit further now i've nothing to loose :)

wish me luck guys and girls
