I think this has been mentioned before but here it goes again. I want to overclock my 8800GTX but I hear you have to use ntune as rivertuner and others are not supported? If this is true then is there any way to apply the settings so they apply at Windows startup?

Rivatuner will allow that, and its true Ntune is buggy for most, you can also use reg patch to get the Classic CP on Nvidia drivers and it will set clocks at startup.

... Im not sure but I dont think I can get the classic control panel now because I have a 8800GTX the drivers are only the very latest which include the new panel...?

I have a 8800Ultra on latest beta drivers 160.XX (one that were pulled) and it works, you still need Coolbits or NVTweak to let you see settings though.

Copy and paste everything between the 2 lines bellow and save as a .reg file not .txt using Notepad, so example" CCP.reg " without quotes.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000001

what should I do with this exactly? I tried entering it into the registry but it doesnt work like the orginal reg edit..

If you did it correctly it would allow you to bring up normal older Window and you click on Additional Properties to see the CP, you will not have overclocking and reresh rate overrides settings though unless you run Coolbits or Nvtweak.

To have your overclock stay in Ntune:

1st: Go into the Adjust GPU Settings screen. Select your GPU overclock and test it. Once you have tested your overclock, click apply.

2nd: Click the top of the control panel menu where it says “Profile” just above the toolbar. Create your profile. Title it 620-950 or something like that so you know what clock speed you used. Now save the profile.

3rd: Go into Adjust Custom Rules and click “Load this profile” under the “Take this action” section. When you click “load this profile” you will see it added below. Now click the blue “Profile” word and you will get a popup to pick your profile. Pick the 620-950 for example then click Open. Now, look in the section titled “When the following condition(s) is/are met” and click on “The system first starts Windows”. Click the arrow button in the middle. Now click Accept to the right.

This will load the 620-950 profile on every reboot.

Thanks for all your help :) I have been searching ages to find this out... sometimes you've jsut gotta ask. Thanks again :D

Ok I have encounted issues here... along with the 'coolbits' version.

Coolbits - Overclock works fine the only problem is, features such as Antialaisng and Antistrobic filtering have problems keeping their given requirement. i.e. If i set Antialiasing to 'Application controlled' it automaticly switches it to 'Off.'

Ntune - Every time I do this, I followed your instuctions to the letter, even tired differnt combinations and differnt drivers but everytime I restart the system it reverts the OC back to stock. The only way I can keep my OC and have no trouble is through River Tuner. However I want to use Ntune because its not a 3rd party software and is directly from Nvidia. Please, pelase help :(
